House Resolution 22

"In memory of Larry Donovan Hendricks, an educator, veteran and former member of the House of Delegates from the County of Logan."

Whereas, Mr. Hendricks was born in 1936 in Sylvester, West Virginia; and
Whereas, Larry Hendricks served in the Army from 1960 to 1962, and was a Merchant Marine. Holding a B.A. Degree from the West Virginia Institute of Technology, he spent most of his time and talent on numerous civic and community activities as a Board Member of the Logan County Development Authority, former school teacher in Clay County, former Board of Director and member of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, former Board member of the Logan County Club, a member of the Chapmanville Kiwanis Club, Boy Scouts of America, Loyal Order of the Moose, American Legion, Kentucky Colonels, NRA, Aracoma Lodge #99 A.F. & A.M. at Logan, Beni Kedem Shrine, sales representative of Petroleum Products at Belle, former Ashland Oil Agent and was a member of the First Church of Christ at Chapmanville; and
Whereas, Mr. Hendricks served with distinction in the House of Delegates from 1990-1994; and
Whereas, Larry Hendricks is survived by his wife, Janet Sexton Hendricks, his daughter Mrs. Jason (Amy D. Hendricks) Barker of Princeton and his three sons, Michael Hendricks of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Todd Hendricks of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Donovan Hendricks of Chapmanville and was the loving grandfather of two granddaughters; and
Whereas, This House of Delegates, the people of West Virginia and particularly the citizens of Chapmanville, Logan County, are saddened by his death; therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That the House of Delegates hereby honors the life, work and public service of Larry Donovan Hendricks, former member and friend, and extends its deepest sympathy to his widow Janet Sexton Hendricks and his family; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a certified copy of this resolution for the family of Larry Donovan Hendricks.
